Welcome Farming Karma to the Kelowna Chamber network! Karma is a local family-owned and operated business known for producing exceptional canned beverages using high-quality fruits.

For over 30 years, Karma and Kuku Gill have grown fruits in Kelowna, earning a reputation for producing some of the finest fruit in the Okanagan Valley. Inspired by their parents' passion for agriculture, their sons Avi Gill and Sumeet Gill, along with Avi's wife Binny Boparai, aspired to continue the family legacy. Together, they established Farming Karma, focusing on giving back to the community while creating healthy and delicious products. The company's name pays tribute to Karma Gill, the farmer, and embodies the concept of Karma—receiving what you give. At Farming Karma, the day-to-day operations are managed by Avi and Binny as the Co-Presidents, while Karma, ensures a steady supply of high-quality fruit. This family-owned business thrives on the collaboration of four generations of farmers, living and working together to bring their passion for agriculture to life.

Karma isn’t just for thoughts and deeds—they also use that exact same philosophy when it comes to their drinks. Farming Karma crafts their sodas using real premium ingredients, with no artificial sweeteners, colors, or flavors added. Initially launched in 2019, their fruit soda line has since expanded to include five flavors: apple, peach, pear, berry, and cherry. Last year, they introduced the Farming Karma Spirit line, which offers the same five flavors with a shot of vodka. Since selling their first can of apple soda in 2019, Farming Karma now boast a product range of 14 offerings which are available in major retail stores across BC, including Superstore, SaveOn Foods, Safeway, and Thrifty’s. They have earned the Sobey's Local Innovation Award and Silver in BC Food & Beverage's Product of the Year.

Giving back to the community is a core part of Binny and Avi’s values. Through their Do Good Initiative, Farming Karma collaborates with local educational institutes including middle schools, high schools, UBC Okanagan, Okanagan College and 4H BC to provide free tours of their agri-tourism facility for students. These tours aim to inspire young minds about the possibilities of careers in agriculture by fostering dialogue around the importance of local food production, innovation, and entrepreneurship. They also partner with numerous local non-profit organizations by volunteering, donating, and helping fundraise. By integrating their values of social responsibility and community engagement into their business model, Binny and Avi strive to drive positive impact in their region.

If you haven’t visited their facility nestled in a cherry orchard on 1160 McKenzie Road yet, we recommend it!
