BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS GALA THIS WEEK IN KELOWNA

Kelowna: Only two days to go until the 33rd annual Business Excellence Awards winners are announced Thursday November 26th at 5:00 p.m. in the virtual Chamber’s annual award show. Winners in thirteen categories will be announced. Videos of each winner’s business or organization will be shown. There will be a message from the Business Leader of the Year, Laurel Douglas, whose accomplishment was announced last week.

And, local hot button musician Joshua Smith will entertain gala guests part way through the event.

As well, five $500 “Wine Experience” packages from Summerhill Pyramid Winery will be announced for five lucky draw names at the end of the event, estimated at around 6:30 p.m.

“The 33rd annual awards, co-presented by Interior Savings Credit Union and Farris LLP have been a challenge to judge, video, and present all while maintaining our high, arms-length independent judging standards,” says Jeffrey Robinson, President of the Chamber. “Like everyone else, we have figured out how to do this and with the stellar professional support of SW Event Technology and Chamber judges and staff, we are making it happen. I, for one, can’t wait to see how it all comes together.”

BACKGROUND

JOSHUA SMITH
Joshua Smith is a singer/songwriter born in Nova Scotia, and now based out of Kelowna BC. You don’t have to work hard to enjoy Joshua’s music. His songs present themselves to you with an open heart; they are clear-eyed, empathetic and penetrating, with an absolute lack of pretension. Without pandering, Smith seeks to satisfy both your ear and your understanding. The verses draw you in with telling detail, both musical and thematic, and the choruses lift and deliver. They resolve without seeming overly tidy or pat. Joshua Smith is set to release his new album in the Spring of 2021.
