Enjoying the unseasonal heat, the Kelowna Chamber held its 40th annual golf tournament Wednesday May 28 at the Harvest Golf Club. The Chamber hosted 156 golfers, 30 sponsors, and numerous friends and supporters, helping raise more than $2,530 for the YMCA and $1,400 for UBCO “Beat the Heat”. Over $100,000 in prizing was available to the participants.
Derek Gratz, President & Chair of the Chamber welcomed golfers alongside tournament presenting sponsor Canco Petroleum. “We had a warm, but productive business and fun day at the Harvest,” said Gratz. “Celebrating our 40th annual tournament made it an extra special occasion, and the networking and the golf combined as we helped offer support not only for business, but for the YMCA and UBCO.”
Title sponsor Canco Petroleum gave all the golfers a great send-off from Hole #1 and a chance to win two Harley Davidson motorcycles at Hole #11. CFO Satvir Panesar said, “We’ve been part of the tournament in previous years, but this is our first year as presenting sponsor. We couldn’t be more pleased at the sold-out turnout.”
