Whether it's using your email or managing an online store, there's risk to your business. We do all we can to assure the protection of your privacy, and we will never sell your information. There are more suspicious electronic communications than ever before, largely because we live in a highly digitized environment. As technology advances, so do opportunities for nefarious activity.
Many of us - at our businesses and personally - have received an email from seemingly legitimate companies (spoofing) asking us to update passwords, verify billing information, or click a link to confirm something (phishing). The Kelowna Chamber will never ask you to do any of those things by email nor do we endorse any advertising or marketing programs - and we never sell your information.
An email from the Kelowna Chamber will always end with @kelownachamber.org. If you're uncertain if an email is legitimate, please look closely at the return email. When in doubt, call us.
For all things phishy, spoofy, or otherwise fraudulent, the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security provides information and can help answer questions you might not know to ask. It's part of the Communications Security Establishment Canada, the single unified source of expert advice, guidance, services and support on cyber security for Canadians.
