A nomination in the Business Excellence Awards is a great way to recognize and celebrate your achievements. Now that you’ve been nominated, what’s next? The process of completing a submission can be a little overwhelming, so we’re sharing some tips.
Understand the criteria
Get familiar with the criteria and requirements. Each category has specific information.
- Review the eligibility, and make a list if you need to.
- Understand how the category is evaluated and what the judges are looking for.
Gather all relevant information
Collect the necessary information. Be sure to include:
- Full name, contact information, and any relevant background.
- Specific accomplishments or projects that meet the criteria.
- Any supporting documents like resumes, letters of recommendation, or portfolio items.
Connect the dots
A thoughtful approach can make a significant difference in the strength of your nomination. Think about your ‘why’ and the pieces if your story that connect directly to the criteria – and then say it.
- Introduction. Briefly introduce yourself and the context of your achievements.
- Achievements. Highlight significant accomplishments with specific examples.
- Impact. Describe the positive impact your work has had and significance of your contributions.
- Conclusion. Summarize how your work is connected to the criteria and repeat key points.
