Chamber Kicks Off Business Excellence for 2020

Kelowna:  While 2020 is proving to be a year different from any other in the Chamber’s history, “Excellence is still at the top of our events roster,” says Chamber President Jeffrey Robinson.  “Recognizing excellence across a range of community and business endeavours is of paramount importance this year”, Robinson says. “Award criteria cover businesses for the immediate past two years; however, having the business smarts to stay afloat financially, continue to safely attract and provide service to customers, and continuing to support your staff will no doubt count for a lot in this year’s nominees.”

Nominations for the Chamber’s 33rd Annual Business Excellence awards open this week and will be accepted until Monday, August 24. Nomination forms may be found online; the link is below. Anyone in the Kelowna area, whether or not a member business or not-for-profit organization may be nominated or self-nominate. Awards are clustered across three society pillars: the environment; arts and culture; and economic growth. The Awards are presented by Farris LLP and Interior Savings Credit Union, long-time supporters of the Chamber.

Explicit criteria are listed on the same Chamber Nomination webpage; judging is conducted by an arms-length panel made up of specialists across a wide range of businesses and organizations.  Finalists will be announced at the beginning of October, with the online Awards ceremony taking place mid-November.

“We look forward to an enthusiastic response from nominees for this signature Chamber event”, Robinson concludes. “Peer recognition means a lot, and this year will be no exception. We have sixteen awards to confer, and nearly all of our sponsors from previous award years have signed back on to be part of this recognition.”
