The Southern Interior Regional Economic Summit (SIRES) was announced today, and is slated for October 23-25, 2022 in Kelowna. The Summit brings together community leaders and economic practitioners from across southern BC for a one-and-a-half-day program. The event kicks off with the release of a State of the Southern Interior Region economic report, commissioned for the Summit and presented by MNP.
The importance of collaborative regional approaches to economic development is increasingly apparent as the province recovers from two years of pandemic disruption.
“BC’s southern interior region is one of Canada’s fastest growing economies,” said Dan Rogers, Executive Director, Kelowna Chamber of Commerce. “It’s imperative that the region’s economic development agencies, practitioners and community leaders come together to build greater prosperity through an accelerated collaborative approach.”
The Summit provides opportunities for thought-leading experts on economic development to share insights and knowledge. It also affords face-to-face connections for delegates to come together to build synergies, broaden networks and produce meaningful partnerships, elevating sustainable economic growth in the region.
Speakers confirmed to speak at the Summit include:

- Andrew Ramlo, Vice President, Intelligence, Rennie Group
- Stephen Tapp, Chief Economist, Canadian Chamber of Commerce
Additional speakers and panelists will be announced over the next few weeks as the program is finalized.

The Southern Interior Regional Economic Summit is spearheaded by the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and is supported by ETSI-BC and MNP.
