TAP PROGRAM MOVES BUSINESS AHEAD

Kelowna: The Kelowna Chamber is looking for small businesses in the Okanagan that want to grow, increase exports, and expand their revenue streams. The Chamber is excited to be partnering with World Trade Centre Vancouver in providing Okanagan businesses with an opportunity to accelerate their growth.

The upcoming Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) begins (virtually) April 6 and major bursaries are available to qualified businesses. Any member of a local chamber in the Okanagan Valley will be able to access the financial assistance simply by acknowledging the nomination by the Kelowna Chamber in their application. This program is valued at $5,000 but those nominated by the Kelowna Chamber will receive a $4,500 bursary.

“We have seen the value of this program to businesses in the Okanagan in the past and now with the pandemic, the timing for this intensive capacity building program couldn’t be better,” says Kelowna Chamber Executive Director Dan Rogers. “We have had a number of our members go on this program and all had nothing but positive things to say about the world-class advisors who deliver the program.”

"I participated in the Trade Accelerator Program in 2018 to develop an export plan for my carbon software company,” says Angela Nagy of GreenStep Solutions. “The program connected my business with a number of individuals and funding agencies that helped me as I work towards exporting both my software and services. I would highly recommend this program to any business that is interested in growing through exports into markets outside of Canada."

The application deadline is March 30, 2021. To hear about the program first-hand: Dan Rogers, Executive Director, Kelowna Chamber of Commerce dan@kelownachamber.org 250-469-7356
