NEWS RELEASE January 12, 2021

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR CHAMBER BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Kelowna: Nikki Csek, Past President of the Kelowna Chamber & member of the Board Development Committee, has announced that the Chamber’s nomination period for new directors is now open.

“One of the highlights of our Chamber year is the election of new directors to our volunteer board,” said Csek. “Directors are volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds who are elected to one-year terms to manage the affairs of the Board in accordance with the By-laws. The Board – a governance board – comprises multiple skill sets which ensure the Chamber’s long-term health and success, setting a tone for organizational effectiveness, innovation, and vision.”

“The ongoing challenges of strategizing for a business organization given the pandemic’s impact on businesses, are ones which the Board embraced in 2020. Moving forward with new directors will require a re-dedication to these strategic goals for the organization as the Chamber continues to represent the needs of business across numerous challenges in 2021.”

Prospective directors are required to be associated with a Chamber member company in good standing as of January 11, 2020. Nominations close Friday February 12 at 4:00 p.m.
