Kelowna Chamber of Commerce Launches New Trip to China

Kelowna, October 15, 2014

: Caroline Grover, CEO of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, announced today

that the Kelowna Chamber is promoting the third trip in their

“Travel & Learn Program” – a five-star, all

inclusive trip to China in April 2015.

The venture is still new for us,” says Grover, who went on the Chamber’s first trip in its “Travel and Learn”

program.

“This program offers amazing sights and opportunities, as well as business connections for our

members and non-members.

” she said.

“In October 2013 we went to China for the first time, taking 180 travelers in four different groups. Their

overwhelm

ing reaction was ‘trip of a lifetime’; ‘where is the Chamber going next?’” Next was Tuscany and

Rome: 32 travelers just returned from a spectacular fall trip with the Chamber.

With a new travel partner, Wells Gray Tours, the Chamber is spreading its wings on this trip to China,

offering an add-

on at the end to trek to Xi’an, to see the Terracotta Warriors – thousands of years old, the

clay warriors were only discovered in 1974.

The trip starts with an overnight in the luxurious Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel so that travelers can

make easy next-day connections to the 11:00 a.m. non-stop Air Canada departure to Beijing. Motor Coach

transportation round trip Kelowna-Vancouver is included, as is a flight Vancouver-Kelowna for returning

travelers who cont

inued on to Xi’an.

On the business side, travelers who want an insight into business in China will have an opportunity to meet

with North China representatives of Trade and Invest BC in Beijing at a working breakfast during the trip.

“We recognize China as a critical part of the BC and Canadian economy,” Grover says. “This is a great

opportunity for all travelers

to be introduced to the culture and the business life of China.”

An information session is scheduled for prospective travelers in November. And lectures on aspects of

China and the trip

including the Terracotta warrior site will take place over winter prior to departure.

Price, value and connections will ensure success for this Chamber trip: four- and five-star hotels, three

meals a day, nine or eleven days of packed tours with English-speaking guides

all taxes and gratuities

included, along with international airfare, for only $2,725

. “That is the Chamber member price,” says

Grover.

Non-members are welcome for only $125 more.”

The trip

April 4-14 (16), 2015 takes travelers to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou. This itinerary

is a proven winner with Wells Gray Tours, who are sending Okanagan-based tour directors who will be with

travelers every step of the way.
