The Green Business Awards were created to recognize businesses and organizations in the Central Okanagan who successfully operate with environmentally sustainable practices. The awards provided a platform in which local sustainability leaders could compete to get recognition for their actions. The competition also aimed to further educate businesses throughout our community on the benefits of using green strategies. 2012 was the last year of the Green Business Awards and an award has been created in the Business Excellence Awards to reflect businesses that go above and beyond while making their business practices environmentally sustainable.
